Mental Health Copywriter

Digital Marketing Strategist

The Guy That Does the Thing

Hey! I'm Sebastian. I'm here to help out.

As your mental health copywriter, I keep digital marketing simple. I like to work with clients using Google Docs, email, and a calendar. Nothing fancy, everything efficient. We’ll find channels where your clients spend time and meet them there.

I'll help you make your mark:

  • Complicated topics made engaging to your audience

  • Make brand shine with its own personality

  • Show your expertise...and why it matters to your clients

I know what it's like to want it all. Make the world a better place, and work on your own terms. Build that cozy home you've imagined and actually spend time there. Play in the yard with your kids on breaks, or take all day off; you’re your own boss!

You've got the business; you've got the skills... You shouldn't need to do all the marketing work. Whether you're just starting to spread the word or handling a large-scale campaign, I'm here to offer clarity and convenience.

What if I told you it won't take a year to reach your capacity? Or that you could be past capacity with a waitlist, in less than six months? Hard to believe?

You might be missing the magic. Good marketing isn't a transaction; it's a connection! Good marketing spreads like wildfire, because it's exactly what your clients need.

BUT the impact of your work—for you AND your clients—depends on killer copywriting to bring business. Easier said than done; and selling yourself can be difficult.

Long-form blogs for SEO; email campaigns; social media research and ads. Maybe a profile for Psychology Today or LinkedIn. Where to start, and how... it gets complicated.

I'm here to guide you through steps to take, and help you take them. So you can run your business with confidence---and go home without homework.

You need to stand out from competitors, because clients want the most obvious solution. Most people won't look farther than page 1 of Google.

Maintaining the freedom that comes with business ownership takes a big digital footprint. That's hours of writing every week, outside of your client time.

That work piles up fast. Most mental health practices can’t keep up. Blogs fizzle out; social media accounts sit empty.

Luckily, I have the answer!

If you're refining your marketing strategy, I’ll handle any copywriting you need and suggest the best ways to reach new leads.

If you're growing a private practice or coaching service, systems like Alma cram you into a network where you're overlooked. They don't refer clients to you.

They get paid most by their top-earning providers. They don't need you to succeed. I bridge that gap.

I help you make connections and close new clients.

I give you the freedom to stay independent. Your results are my biggest focus, so you can spend your days off relaxing instead of scrambling to keep up.

"How did you become a copywriter," you ask?

I saw firsthand the benefits of mental health marketing, back when I was in a rut. Young, dumb, confused.

I stumbled across a blog that explained exactly what I was experiencing. Suddenly the world wasn't ending, and I wasn't so unique. My problems had real solutions.

I've learned everything I could from sources just like that. If anyone asked, I'd have a few world-class pros to recommend---because their marketing works.

It feels like a lifetime ago that my journey started. Mental health content marketing helped me understand my situation and transform it.

It showed me a larger community and how to thrive. When I hit setbacks, I get excited at the learning opportunity.

I don't waste time on self-doubt. I get up and do the thing—and I’m ready to help make a difference.

Let me show you how it works.

Let me help you help them.

FAQs

Is Hiring A Mental Health Copywriter Worth My While?

Yes! And here’s why:

  • Companies that publish blogs get 55% more traffic and have 434% more pages indexed by search engines. Where would you be with 55% more business? An extra $30,000 yearly revenue? More?

So...Why not do it yourself?

Because although it’s a key aspect of successful marketing, it sucks up free time daily.

I’m here to give you the freedom you deserve.

On top of that, 96.55% of the pages on the internet get zero traffic from Google.

That means you, if you don’t stay on top of the marketing. And let’s face it; you’ve already got a business to run. Staying on top of that is tough enough.

  • Only 3% of blogs consistently publish articles of 2,000+ words. Interesting... lines up neatly with the 3.5% of pages that get any traffic.

So what?

I make that happen for you. Like clockwork. Stand out on Google within three months (average) with just one article of 2,000 words or more each month.

Or a few smaller pieces at 1500+ words, say 2 to 4 a month, puts you above the average. You want that 1st page of Google? This is the best way.

  • 70% of internet users prefer to learn about a company through its blog posts rather than advertisements.

So what?

The consensus is IN! We’re not just catering to Google's algorithm. Clients are much more likely to book with you if they see you offering helpful insights.

What Makes You Different from Other Copywriters?

How did you become a mental health copywriter?

A personal appreciation for the value of mental health drove me here.

“Make the unconscious conscious, or it will control you, and you will call it fate.”

Mental health education isn't just about oneself; it's about how to live better and make the world better for it. It’s the ability to rewrite your “fate.”

This is a passion project for me. I'm going to write the projects you need regardless; you might as well use them for your marketing! (otherwise, who knows…I might change careers and become your competition…)

Just kidding! Next question?

I realized that mental health is about understanding life. It’s about how you perceive the things that you can’t control, and how you control the things you can.

My ‘career’ started in rain and mud, digging holes for telephone pole maintenance. (Not fun, not well-paying.) Strenuous labor and harsh weather for 8+ hours a day leaves plenty of time to reflect.

It’s cliche, but it really does build character. I realized my mental state was the biggest factor in how “well” my day was going. I was stuck there regardless, but I controlled my response to it. I saw my way through it, and I started making progress towards the life I really wanted.

I’ve always wanted to be a writer, but some internal limitation stopped me.

It took some time, and a change of jobs, but I realized that was also within my control. So, I started writing. Short stories, poems, outlining my big novel, planning Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.

For awhile, I still believed that my passion and my skills couldn’t create a well-paying career.

I had my head in the sand. Turns out, the more our economy becomes digitized, the more businesses need writing.

Strong storytelling, semi-poetic turns of phrase, development of "characters" for marketing.

And then I was asked, “when are you going to start betting on yourself?”

Another thing about me—I rise to challenges. I’m proving that whatever safe anonymity I had isn’t worth as much as the journey I’m on.

My skills are more valuable than I imagined. I just had to start marketing them.

Is the same true for you?

What’s the procedure, working with a copywriter?

I can’t speak for all of them, but I keep it nice and easy.

Here’s a step-by-step:

  • First we'll work out the details during our 15-minute(ish) consultation call. This includes:

    • Identifying your ideal customer

    • Evaluating your marketing plan

    • How best to connect to prospects

    • Overall business needs

    • Your personal goals

    • Potential starting points for our work

    • General terms and next steps

  • We'll finalize details like specific goals, pricing, and deadlines. I’ll email you a proposal and you can give it the go-ahead.

  • I’ll start work, and then share the Google Doc with you. You can make editing suggestions. Either right in the document, or via email is fine.

  • I’ll collect your first payment (50% of total price) through this nifty website, then go into revisions.

  • We agree on whether it’s ready to roll out. (I don’t charge for minor edits, so don’t hold back!)

  • Your finished work goes out into the great wide world.

  • I’ll collect the second payment. (For retainers, we’ll do a single monthly payment instead.)

  • More people become aware of you and your business.

  • More sales add up - and more customers will bring repeat business or referrals.

Your business grows and your investment pays for itself.

How Much Does Copywriting Cost?

…Not as much as it returns!

I have a quick list of price ranges here for any individual projects. They’re listed as a range because I determine price on a case-by-case basis, depending on word count, complexity, and research time. We agree on pricing before the project starts.

First draft is free, then it’s 50% upfront and 50% on completion.

For retainers or bundles, I round out combined prices with a bit knocked off (you’re my favorite clients, after all).

Average price is between $500 and $1000 monthly, depending on how much work we’re doing.

If there are any services you’re interested in, such as video scripts or product descriptions, shoot me an email! Sebastian@allen-copy.com

Yep!

After we start a project, your first draft is completely free. I won’t even collect payment until after it’s done. Don’t like it, no worries; we can go back to the drawing board or toss it out. No obligation!

Of course, it won’t be perfect, which is why your first round of edits is also completely free. Minor edits after that are also fine by me.

We’ll cover 50% of the payment after your first draft, then I’ll start polishing it up.

(note; refunds won’t be available after this)

Is There A Guarantee?

How Long Will My Project(s) Take?

It depends, actually.

Project Type/Length is a big one. A 3000-word blog takes longer than a 600-word Psychology Today profile. In general, short stuff (1,000 words or less) could be done within three to five days.

At the far end, a long blog or eBook could take 2 weeks or more, depending on…

Complexity. For highly technical topics and/or central pieces of your online presence, we want to take our best crack at it.

More complexity = more research = more time.

Your Input is also key. Important data, like site analytics, client feedback, or email open rates, speeds my research. That research is the core of good marketing. Gotta target the right things with every message for good results.

Are You Experienced?

I don't fit the old mold, that’s for sure. A 30-year career with a soul-sucking company probably wouldn’t suit me (even if I was that old).

I am, however…

  • a writer of 8+ years

  • A student of mental health principles for 5+years

  • Personally experienced with the value of your services

  • New enough to understand rapid-changing marketing trends

  • Driven to build your business along with my own

…so let’s give each other a boost! I love a good win-win.

Are We Going to Work Well Together?

Absolutely!

I’m kinda thrilled to be here. It’s my goal to be the best freelancer you’ve worked with (or the only one you ever need).

I stay organized, work in a direct, logical way, and I’m quick to adjust for feedback. It’s really satisfying to have a well-executed project.

I love the process and everything I learn throughout, so let’s learn a couple things together!

…Not to toot my own horn, but SEO is my top specialty. I enjoy it, because it’s driven by a set of clear rules. You get a sense for it, if you write as often as I do.

I plan and research SEO goals, weaving them through any copy on your website.

I also offer a quick website audit to give you suggestions on how to improve headlines, titles, descriptions, etc.

Using tools like Ubersuggest and Google Keyword Planner make it even simpler, so you don’t have anything to worry about.

Can A Mental Health Copywriter Help With SEO?

When do I need to pay?

For individual pieces, it’s 50% after your first draft passes inspection, and 50% after the project is done.

For “bundled” work, it’ll be 50% upfront and 50% after all projects are finished.

For a monthly retainer, it’s a flat monthly payment, starting on the first day.

How Quickly Can We Get In Touch?

Whether we’re working on a project or you just have some questions, email me anytime at sebastian@allen-copy.com and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours. Usually, I’ll make it ASAP, but that’s my guaranteed limit.

What Are The Benefits of Hiring a Mental Health Copywriter?

Referral Policy

Refer a friend in need of copywriting, and you’ll earn 20% of the commission on our first month’s work together.

The more work you bring my way—and the better we hit it off—the bigger your payday.

Simple enough; what’s the catch?

Nothing too harsh; just two things.

One, I gotta ask you to fill out the form at the bottom of this page, so I have a clear record of who was referred by whom.

Two; I only have so much capacity. So, if your referral goes into a waitlist, I’ll let you know when our “first month” of work begins.

And if I’m wayyy too busy, I’ll redirect you to another writer in my network. A "referral-referral", as it were.

Right now, I’m wide open. So if you have someone in mind, don’t hesitate to refer them! Thanks in advance.

Use this form to complete the referral process:
